What Direction Will China and EU Relations Take in 2026?
Date and time: Thursday January 29th 10 AM to 1 PM CET
The world is presently undergoing unprecedented turbulence from the American regime change and occupation of Venezuela ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump to the proposed American takeover of Greenland, to a new threatened American led military intervention against Iran. What exactly is going on and how does this affect international relations most especially between China and the European Union? These questions need clarity and understanding yet, even more importantly, what kind of solutions are available to avoid the rapid decent into barbarism or as it is also being called “the law of the jungle”. If policy decisions are being taken and enforced not upon any clearly recognized international agreements such as those founded in the UN Charter or the Treaty of Westphalia but rather upon the basis of merely having the power or being prepared to use brute force to carry out and execute self-defined policy interests, humanity is looking down into the abyss of self-destruction.
The rapidly evolving reality of dividing nations and governments into geopolitical blocks, as has occurred previously in world history, will not solve this tension and avoid the danger of a general world war or conflict. Solutions to this extremely challenging crisis can be found. They will not be found within the old geopolitical game of divide and rule. They are rather based upon a far more stable and scientific basis referred to as win-win economic cooperation or within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative or as we in the BRIX have dubbed “Belt and Road Economics.” The underlying concept is “a community with a shared future for humanity” and cooperation rather than conflict. These principles must be both understood and acted upon in shaping world affairs, as well as China and EU relations. We invite you to participate and discuss these concepts to find the necessary direction for world peace and development.
