Professor Italo Poty is a lecturer of international relations at the Institute of Strategic Studies of the Fluminense Federal University, Brazil and is currently affiliated with the Guangdong Institute for International Strategies as a guest researcher. He had an extensive discussion with Hussein Askary, Vice-Chairman of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden on recent agreements made between China and the Community of Caribbean and Latin American States (CELAC) meeting in Beijing. The Integration of the Latin American and Caribbean infrastrcuture networks and building a new bi-oceanic canal in Nicaragua is high on the agenda.
