H.E. Mr. Djoomart Otorbaev, Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, granted this interview to Hussein Askary, Vice-Chairman of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden (BRIX), to shed light on the role of Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, and China in reshaping the region which was considered the “heartland” of global geopolitics. Economic development through the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and other multilateral agreements have brought win-win cooperation to this region which will affect Afghanistan, Pakistan-India, and even Iran. The British Empire’s “Divide and conquer” is being replaced by China’s “unite and prosper”.
